For all of you who have wondered what happened to Mel and his blog, I need to let you know a few things............................
Between some family needs, some health concerns, and, some time on the
road, I have not fished my local ponds since late October. Then it
snowed and got down around (-10) degrees at night. Winter season is
here in Colorado, too!
Note: I did not take this picture, but, sure appreciate who did. This is a cold morning overlooking the South Shore of Lake Loveland. Cold and beautiful.............................
That being said, let me take this moment to wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving with your families and friends. I pray that none of you ate so much that you won't be able to cast a line again until next Spring............
Now, myself, I am into winter tackle maintenance and re-filling my tackle boxes with lures, jigs, and, the occasional fly, too. Until then, I will just have to dream along with these two guys...
Ok, Ok, something else must be up here. Until next time........................................
Happy Thanksgiving sir, hope it was a great one.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bryan, I sure appreciate your thoughts. It was a festive day for sure. Now, all I want to do is sleep..........
DeleteMel!! I'm so happy that you had a nice Thanksgiving with your wonderful family. I won't say I wasn't worried and I hope all those family and health concerns are past. Take care my brother.
ReplyDeleteHoward, thank you for the wishes for me and my family. My blessings as well for you and Pam. I know you had another trip to the hospital on Thanksgiving Day, but, happy to hear you finally got to the turkey.
DeleteGezzerhood seems to be synonymous with health issues and unexpected happenings. We, are all doing well at the moment.
Take care of yourself, Brother...........................
Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving, Mel! Good to see a post from you. I, too, am in Winter mode. Fly tying, organizing, and just dreaming of the days of 60+ degree weather. Hope that you, your family, and any health concerns are behind you, and things are on the up and up!
ReplyDeleteJustin, I had a very nice Thanksgiving day with my kids and grandkids. What a feast!
DeleteHope that you also enjoyed your friends and family in the spirit of chowing down on some turkey.............
I don't tend to get out as much anymore in the winter time to fish. Tend to play it safe at my age...........
So I work a little on gear, organizing, tying, and, meeting the fish of my dreams!
Thanks for the support with my health and family issues. I really appreciate your thoughts.
Hey Mel. Saw your email about the Facebook thing. Just FYI, I don't do any of those. It's nothing personal, It takes too much of my time. As for "Here fishy, fishy, fishy" thing, doesn't work. Glad to have you back.
ReplyDeleteHi, Mark. I found your old account on Facebook so thought it wouldn't hurt to try stay in contact with you over there, too. However, I completely understand. We have limited time it seems anymore and we have to make it go round the clock.
DeleteOh, no! Now, you have gone and broke my heart................................
"Fishy, Fishy, Fishy, doesn't work"!
Do you have any tips for me?
You know, "Here fishy, fishy, fishy" has actually worked for me a time or two, but I find it best to not do it around strangers. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHi, Rebecca. Thank you for the Thanksgiving wishes. I appreciate the tip on "Here Fishy, Fishy, Fishy". I was wondering why those other anglers on the pond were looking at me with that "lost" look on their face. Go get 'em this ice fishing season.
