"65"

If I remember right, I turn "65" today, I think....................

Perhaps, I was going to go fishin' today, I don't remember...................

My wife said I could buy a new Ultralight Spinning rod for my birthday...................

Well, I bought it.  Now, just can't remember where I put it...............................

Whats more, there is a new little tackle box right where I used to put my old one...........

The little one is empty.  Anyone know where I put the old one...........................?

There's my reel sticking out from underneath my pillow......................................

If I could find that new rod now, I think I would go fishin'

Oh, No!  I think I can smell my box of worms someplace...........................

A little Tom Rush before I head out the door...............................................

    1. Thanks, Mark. I laughed at your response, but, I bet that it is true that once they quit buggin' you, your existence is probably lost in the computer system somewhere.........................

Do you happen to remember where I put my fishing license, or, if I even bothered to buy one this year?

  3. Happy birthday, Mel!!!! That was a pretty funny song. Never heard of the artist, but I dig this tune. I'll have to try and remember it years from now. :)

    1. Well, Justin, I won't be around years from now to help you remember this song so you better take good notes or record it yourself someplace so you can refer back too it................................................... My guess is that you probably won't remember why you recorded it years from now.

Thanks, for the birthday wishes, my friend. Tom Rush was popular back in the late 1960's and '70's. Sang a lot of songs that helped keep my mind messed up after I came home from VietNam. Check his stuff out on YouTube!

  4. Happy 65th, Mel! I haven't really heard much of Tom Rush since my college years, but this is a good song to help me remember some of what is really hard for me to remember now. Have a great new year.

  6. Happy Birthday Mel, couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Hope you have many more to come. I have been trying to add your blog to my blog roll, but for reason blogger will not accept the url. I will keep trying. I will be leaving the blogger scene for a while and hope to be back soon. Keep things in order while I am gone. Thanks for sharing

    1. Thank you very much for the well wishes, Bill. It is my intent to keep on keeping on as long as the good Lord is willing. I visited your blog and I believe the current blog listing is correct for my blog. Looks good from over here. Anyway, the one from Wordpress shows plus the current one. Just delete the Wordpress blog and you should be fine as is. Hope being away from the blogger scene is just temporary. I will miss your interactions and posts while you are away.
